Mr. Kozak’s practice concentrates on tax (federal, state and local), trusts and estates, business law, commercial transactions, business formations and organization, corporate and partnership law, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, ESOPs, estate planning, probate (including guardianships and conservatorships), elder and matrimonial property law.  Mr. Kozak represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the Arizona Department of Revenue, as well as before local and federal courts.

Mr. Kozak is regularly named one of the best lawyers in Tax, Trusts and Estates, and/or Corporate law by Arizona Business Magazine.  He has been published in national magazines, including Forbes and Financial Executive.  He taught Real Estate Taxation in the Golden Gate University Masters of Taxation program.  He has been actively involved in the Estate Planning, Closely Held Business, Partnership and Real Estate Committees of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.  He has participated in the Tax Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In addition to being admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1981, Mr. Kozak also is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona.  Mr. Kozak received his BBA (Accounting and Real Estate) with Dean’s Honors from the University of Wisconsin and his JD from Southwestern University School of Law (SCALE, a unique accelerated program).

Mr. Kozak also serves as a Director of Childhelp (Arizona), an international fifty year old charity which provides assistance to victims of child abuse throughout the United States and abroad.
